29 November 2024

Episode Three of GFG’s podcast Steel Town is live, with details of the term sheet for USD$100 million ($A150m) which the business has negotiated to support Whyalla operations.

In the latest episode, called The Push, Liberty Primary Metals Australia (LPMA) CEO Sandip Biswas discusses the funding and thanks workers for their continued commitment and determination as the blast furnace restart continues.

We speak to members of the rolling mill team to get an insight into the last step in the steelmaking process and why they love creating finishing products.

“What I like to do when my friends and family come to visit, I’ll take them down to the wire jetty where they can see the product that we roll for the jetty. You can even see the LS AS branding on it which is always great,” Shift Process Controller Jack Haines says.

GFG Alliance is a proud sponsor of the Shooting Stars organisation which seeks to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and girls to reach their full potential.

In Episode Three we also speak to SA Operations Manager Stacey Gray to find out more about the important work Shooting Stars does and Stacey’s pride in watching participants thrive.
