GFG Alliance is proud to be sponsor of the Whyalla Food Hub – a service set up to help those struggling to put food on the table in the Whyalla region.
Foodbank Whyalla has been serving the Whyalla community for more than 10 years. Working with more than 52 local agencies and schools in the Whyalla region, Foodbank has distributed in excess of 250,000 kilograms in Whyalla over the last 12 months.
This has enabled Foodbank to put more than 500,000 nutritious meals on the table for families & individuals in need living in Whyalla this year alone. This is on top of the 3 million meals already distributed in the region over the last decade.
Foodbank have now established a Foodbank Food Hub to assist the growing number of families in the region who are struggling to put food on the table. Foodbank officially opened the Whyalla Food Hub on 6 March 2020.
GFG Alliance sponsors the school breakfast, and is the Whyalla Food Hub’s fruit and vegetable sponsor. Senior leaders and representatives attended the Food Hub’s official opening, which was attended by the Port Adelaide Football Club during its visit to Whyalla in March 2020 for the Marsh Community Series game.
